At least some parts of Tiger Wood’s recent statement on his web site could read as a critique of social networking.
…There is an important and deep principle at stake which is the right to some simple, human measure of privacy. I realize there are some who don’t share my view on that. But for me, the virtue of privacy is one that must be protected in matters that are intimate and within one’s own family.
I don’t think having sex with half the people one meets necessarily reflects a deep (my pun intended, not sure about his) desire for privacy, but this excerpt could have easily come from any statement about the potential downside of social networking.
Is the right to some simple, human measure of privacy still a deep principle? Seems more like a curse millions are doing anything they can to avoid.
