Oatmeal and iPhones

This morning I took my son out for oatmeal on the way to school. Breakfasts on the way to school are one of our great traditions. While he was midway through and oatmeal-mouthed anecdote, I felt a familiar vibration in my pocket. Incoming email. Who cares? What could be so important? Ninety-nine percent of my inbox is garbage. And besides, aren’t I about to start blogging about downsides of letting the stream control your life?

Yes, I pulled the phone out. Yes, I checked my email. It was an alert that I had a new Twitter follower.

It’s an addiction.
